EA Sports is rolling out its October title update for College Football 27 on October 1, bringing another round of improvements to gameplay, Dynasty, Road to Glory, Ultimate Team, and presentation.
This is a refinement update rather than a complete gameplay overhaul. Its most important changes target situations that could unfairly alter a possession or interrupt a long-term mode, while the new uniform collection gives players an immediate visual reason to return.
Title Update 5 quick hits
Control, stability and authenticity lead the update
- Ballhawk defenders can now strafe
- QB slide super dives have been corrected
- QB-sneak audibles no longer auto-shift the defensive line
- End-zone interceptions should no longer become false safeties

Defensive control
Ballhawk movement becomes more flexible
Defenders can now strafe while using Ballhawk, giving users more control when tracking a pass and positioning themselves for an interception. The change should make defensive movement feel less locked-in during the final moments of a play.
Situational football
QB slides, sneak audibles and end-zone rulings receive fixes
EA fixed the unusual super-dive animation that could trigger when a quarterback attempted to slide near the first-down line. Slides in critical third-down and late-game situations should now produce more natural results.
Audibling into or out of a quarterback sneak will no longer cause the defensive line to automatically pinch or spread. EA also corrected a scoring issue in which a defender could intercept a pass near the goal line, carry it into the end zone, and be incorrectly charged with a safety.
Dynasty
Coach progression and the EA Sports Network get cleaned up
The EA Sports Network Top Story can now be viewed when the user's team is playing in the National Championship, and EA made several text updates throughout the presentation package.
Coach Goals should now correctly award Dynasty Points during the End of Season Recap. Points earned after a contract extension will be granted in multiples of five, and the staff-firing warning now properly accounts for refunded Dynasty Points. The update also addresses a Post-Game Stats screen that could remain stuck on a Please Wait message and updates North Carolina's defensive coordinator.
Road to Glory
Practice freezes and progression-screen problems are addressed
The William V. Campbell Trophy now displays its proper icon, and sliders on the Max Potential screen should remain visible after all allocations are reset.
EA also fixed freezes tied to selecting a Goal Line play during the Air Game minigame and choosing certain Special Teams plays as a non-quarterback.
Items and online play
EVO selection, objectives and uniform choices become more reliable
Ultimate Team receives the update's largest group of menu and item-management fixes. EA addressed Ultimate Captain upgrades, maximum-overall displays, favorited objectives, EVO filters, reward-path previews, item positions, jersey numbers, Field Pass XP totals, and eligible items in Sets.
An EVO should now apply to the player selected by the user instead of the first eligible player in the list. Online Head-to-Head games should also honor the uniforms chosen in Advanced Settings rather than reverting to each team's default set.

The best changes remove outcomes players could not control
The false-safety correction and defensive-line audible fix matter most in competitive games because both could directly affect the result of a close matchup. Better Ballhawk movement should also reward defenders who are already in position to make a play.
For long-running online dynasties, reliable coaching rewards and a working National Championship Top Story strengthen the season-to- season experience. The uniforms will earn the screenshots, but the quieter fixes should have the greater long-term impact.
